Thierry- Which list are you talking about? Does the file not appear in the Open dialog, or in the list on your iPad?

Okay, this stopped working for me. I deleted all documents that were listed and re added them. I also removed Keynote from my iPad and readded it as well. Now even if I add a presentation one by one, it still does not sync to my iPad...

VERY frustrating as the main reason I got the iPad was to do client presentations that I created from my PC...

@Alex and @Helmi - We don't provide technical support for the iPad so I would suggest contacting Apple. That said, here are few suggestions.

@Alex - I would try updating iTunes and see if that fixes things.

@Helmi - I know that Keynote for iPad doesn't support all of the features of Keynote for Mac. So certain formatting and transitions won't cross over. I'm afraid there isn't anything you can do about it except work within the constraints of the iPad version until Apple changes things.

With the new iTunes, importing Keynote presentations is definitely not at all Apple-like. I find I have to save the file on my Mac, Add it in iTunes on the Apps tab of the iPad, then on the iPad, tell it to import the file from iTunes. This is far too cumbersome. Even though iTunes says it copies the file to the iPad when you add it on your Mac, it does not update it. Me thinks this is a bug.

I have successfully and repeatedly completed the procedure as shown above, yet my presentation includes videos and it is 1.50Gb thus my iPad keynote crashes half way through and when opened again it holds a default new presentation with only 1 slide!!

any suggestions?

@Calliope - Sorry I don't know what to tell you with that. You would need to contact Apple.

If you have mobile me, from your Mac just save the presentation to the desktop, drag it into the idisk drive and on your iPad, open up idisk and your presentation will be there. Click the open sign and it will give you the option of opening it in keynote. Done. It took less then a minute.

@Brett -

Just select the file in the list in iTunes and press "Delete".

I bought an "open box" iPad 2 that quit working after my keynote presentation this weekend (I had it for 12 days). I managed to sync it to iTunes before 'restoring' the iPad and returning it for a new one.

Now, my Keynote presentation stored in iTunes (and on my computer) won't sync into my new iPad.

WHAT I'M DOING:
In Keynote on my iPad, I tap the [+] then tap [iTunes] & my presentations show up in the window. I select my current, correct presentation, it appears to be downloading but then a window pops up: [Presentation couldn't be imported. An error occurred. OK].

Well... It's not "OK" - I need to know 'why' and what my options are for getting my presentation back onto my new iPad.

Can you help?

Bizarre... I just wrote you about my iPad vs Keynote problems.

After many trials and errors, I finally took my presentation I had stored on my Mac... re-titled it... then drag-'n-dropped it into the iTunes Keynote window... then I went onto my iPad to find this new, retitled presentation and viola! I was finally able to import the Keynote presentation under it's new title.

I tried re-titling my presentation in the iTunes window itself and still couldn't import it. However, once I retitled it from my Mac first, then dropped it back into iTunes, my iPad somehow liked that solution and I was able to import it.

I thought your readers would like to be aware of this solution.

It works when you follow the above instruction, then go to KEYNOTE on your IPad, hit the + in the upper right hand corner and select COPY FROM ITUNES. Then, it should appear in a box, select that and it will import.
