How do I fill in cells with a series of months, days or series of numbers?
Numbers will automatically fill in ranges of values in cells using the Fill feature. This lesson will show you how to use the Fill feature with month names, days of the week and a series of numbers.
Enter Month Name
As a first example, let's look at how to quickly populate a row with the months of the year. Begin by entering January in a cell and selecting it.
Tap in Cell
Tap in the cell and a contextual menu will appear. Tap on Fill in the menu.
The Fill Handles
When you tap on Fill, the border around the cell will change. Click on drag on one of the handles to start filling in values in the adjoining cells. I'm going to tap and drag on the right handle and drag to the right.
The Result
As you can see, Numbers filled in the month names for me automatically.
Days of the Week
Let's look at another example. Here I have entered Monday in a cell and started a Fill operation.
As I drag to the right, the days of the week are filled in.
A Series of Numbers
As a final example let's look at a series of numbers. Here I have entered the numbers 10 and 20 and started a Fill operation with both cells selected.
As I drag to the right, Numbers fills in each cell with the next number + 10.

Thanks. I spent 3 dollars buying some worthless book on kindle store trying to figure it out and you provide the answer for free. Your blog is way more valuable than that book
