How do I change the vertical scale of a chart?

By default, a chart in Numbers will use the highest number in the Series. This lesson you show you how to change the maximum value to one you specify.

Select Chart

Notice the maximum value on the y-axis of this chart is 40.

Open Inspector

Tap on the Inspector button to open the chart inspector (1). On the Y Axis tab (2), tap on Value Scale Settings (3).

Enter Maximum Value

Tap on the Maximum Value field to enter your own maximum value.

I've entered 100 as the new maximum value. After entering your value click on the canvas, outside the property inspector to save the change.

The maximum y-axis value is now 100.
