Where are my formatting controls?
This lesson discusses how to display the formatting controls when working with a Pages document.
Landscape Mode
When working with Pages in portrait mode there are no formatting controls for your document. All that you see is your content.
Portrait Mode
When the iPad is in portrait mode the Pages menu bar is visible at the top of the screen (1).
To reveal the formatting controls tap on the ruler (2).
After tapping on the ruler the formatting controls will appear.
Notice that the document content is no longer visible as the formatting controls appeared over the top.
Simply tap and drag in the content area to scroll the page down. The content will reappear.
